11) Seye Ogunlewe
He knocked many times; finally the door opened for Ogunlewe who this year won the Nigerian 100m title. Ogunlewe is the second fastest Nigerian sprinter this year with 10.19s, and it was not surprising that he came to the competition with a lot of expectation.
Winning his semifinal races, he replicated the same feat in the final to be crowned Nigerian champion, showing that he could hold his own at home too.
He didn’t make the trip to Beijing but was chosen to be in Brazzaville where he finished 4th in the 100m with a time of 10.35s, although he was ill coming into the competition.
My guess is the list should include
Regina George
Tosin Oke
Samson Idiata
Chinazom Amadi
Oluwatobilola Amusan
Hope I’m right.
Well Mike you are close. Watch out for part 2 of the story to see if your picks made the final cut.
