Reigning World and Olympic champion in the women’s 100m, Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce was asked if she considers Dafne Schippers a threat, and she responds by saying “I consider all female athletes a threat. In terms of time, we are not that far apart…..”
The Jamaican is definitely one athlete who deserves to win an award in Tact and Diplomacy!
Schippers had her fair share of attention during the press conference, and is certainly glad that her decision to focus on the sprints paid off.
However a lot of commenters on the YouTube video are not happy that Tori Bowie wasn’t asked a single question by the journalists – ouch!
One tends to wonder though, if she wasn’t American, would the uproar in the YouTube comments have been as much? Would anyone have even noticed? Someone could have at least asked Bowie one question though! That’s not too much to ask for, is it?
