On the table, there’s been a change of fortune as some players have made giant leaps forward while others have taken few steps back.

R Sigma (Sigma Team) is definitely the man to be beaten in our league, as he maintains his top position with 1108 points, Yemi Olus (Pacesetters) takes huge steps forward to finish runner-up with 1038 points, while Javier Sanz (jss’s Team) moved to 3rd position with 1031 points.

League after day 6 Birm

The Birmingham Meeting was a point raking one as players had at least four picks who set Meet Records (MR). Interestingly, Triple Jumper Caterine Ibarguen, who was always the first choice for all players in every city she participated because maximum points were guaranteed, was handled her first defeat in four years, which meant a loss of points to all who chose her.

Same was with Ameer Webb who was handed his first loss in the 200m this year, while Piotr Malachowski bounced back to winning ways to obtain all points for his faithfuls who stuck with him.

R Sigma had SIX wins with five setting MR’s including his captain Kirani James, he then picked two other 2nd place finishers and one 5th place finisher who gave him just 3 points.
Javier Sanz also had the same selections as R Sigma except for Kendra Harrison, who was his captain.

On the World League tables, Christopher Maienza is the new leader with 1122 points, David Ferrer moved to 2nd position with 1121 points while Joeri VanEgmond completed the top three with 1117 points. Our league leader R Sigma, made giant leaps from 12th to be back in the top 5.
