Forty-eight hours after emerging victorious at the Diamond Race Contest of the “MoC 2018 League” in Monaco, Dennis Ogbonna’s Team was on the verge of becoming the first player to win consecutive contest in our league, but he had to settle for second place after Peter Ibironke’s Team beat him to the win at the London Race Contest.

So close was the contest that both players selected the duo of Luvo Manyonga and Karsten Warholm as their captains respectively, as they were the only athletes to set Meeting Records (MR) at the London Diamond League.

The tie breaker that separated them was the choice of Peter Ibironke to pick Paul Chelimo as one of his players, with the American winning the men’s 5000m, while Dennis Ogbonna opted for Ethiopia’s Yomif Kejelcha whom placed third in the race.

Ibironke’s Team accumulated a total of 154 points to claim victory, while Ogbonna’s Team placed 2nd with 149 points. Team Growing Up, owned by Abdulrahman Azeez was 3rd with 149 points.

Team Royal Nuts still tops our overall standings after Day 11, with 1916 points garnered so far, while WeRun Team is second with 1832 points. St Atuye’s Team is just one point behind WeReun team in third place.
