The Nigerian Petroleum Development Company (NPDC) Limited has joined the growing list of supporters for Making of Champions (MoC) Track Club ahead of the 2018/19 Athletics season.
In an interesting development, the NNPC subsidiary located in Benin, Edo State, made a one-off donation to the club, which has gone a long way in securing equipment for the athletes in preparation for a new season.
The funds have also aided in paying for the tuition of MoC athletes currently enrolled for their Senior Secondary School and University Matriculation examinations, many of whom are from the Niger Delta region of the country.
NPDC’s gesture is timely and is coming just before the MoC Athletics Trials in Port-Harcourt, Ughelli and Enugu, geared towards bringing in more talented youngsters into the club, living up to its vision to raise and train athletes towards the Tokyo 2020 Olympics and beyond.
Commending this initiative by NPDC, MoC Founder/CEO Bambo Akani said: “It is a heartwarming development to see NPDC coming to the aid and support of our athletes. It is a recognition that we are humbled and honoured by, and it shows that we are beginning to make progress in our mission to make the country proud in Track and Field. On behalf of everyone in MoC, we want to thank NPDC and promise to make them proud”.
NPDC has been installed as a Bronze sponsor for MoC Track Club ahead of the 2018/2019 season.
