For the second consecutive game, Cameroon’s Pascal Siakam hit double figures for Toronto Raptors who defeated Miami Heat in a close contest, which saw the Northside win 107 – 103 in their second game since the NBA restart.

Unlike their first game which they won convincingly against LA Lakers, this match against the Heat was very close. Raptors went into half-time leading 48-44, hitting 36pts in the 3rd quarter to outscore Heat by a point (35), while the Heat took the 4th quarter by 24-23, but Raptors had done enough to get them back to back victories.

Siakam sunk in 22pts (6reb and 3ast), more than the 15pts he made against Lakers on Saturday. Nigerian-British born OG Anunoby contributed 7pts in the match, and their Congolese-Spanish teammate Serge Ibaka made 15pts.

Meanwhile for the Heat, Bam Adebayo who is one of the prospects who could still switch nationality and commit to Nigeria, made 10pts and 8reb for Miami. Gabe Vincent who is already on D’Tigers roster, was an unused substitute in the game.

Athletics coverage was a discovery, having to move away from regularly writing about Football. Although it was initially daunting, but now being an authority in it makes the past effort worthwhile. From travelling on the same international flight with Nigerian athletes, to knowing you could easily interview: World Record holder Tobi Amusan, then Ese Brume, I have cut my teeth in this beat earning the trust of Athletics sources.
