Senegal’s Georges Niang and DR Congo’s Emmanuel Mudiay both came off the bench on Monday for Utah Jazz in their match against LA Lakers, who ran out with a 116-108 victory.

Niang was on the court for 18mins:10s for Utah, and contributed 4pts, 1reb and 1ast. Making three steals, the joint second highest in the game, with only his teammate, Royce O’Neale (4) making more than him.

For Mudiay, he was on the court for just 9mins:20s, making an appreciable impact with 7pts for the Jazz. Containing Anthony Davis was difficult for the Jazz team, who couldn’t stop the Lakers forward from hitting double-double, making a game-high 42pts and 12reb.

The defeat left Jazz down in 5th place in the Western Conference, with Lakers going tops. Jazz will next play against Memphis Grizzlies on Wednesday.

Athletics coverage was a discovery, having to move away from regularly writing about Football. Although it was initially daunting, but now being an authority in it makes the past effort worthwhile. From travelling on the same international flight with Nigerian athletes, to knowing you could easily interview: World Record holder Tobi Amusan, then Ese Brume, I have cut my teeth in this beat earning the trust of Athletics sources.
