Playing their fourth game in the bubble, Victor Oladipo’s Indiana Pacers team were stunned on Thursday by Phoenix Suns who defeated them 114-99 to end their winning streak since the NBA restarted.

On paper, Pacers were the favourites to win, but the Suns started with great intent, even leading by as much as 15pts at some point in the 1st quarter. It didn’t initially look like an unassailable lead, but the Suns were inspired by how well they were controlling the game and built on that.

Although Pacers tried a late rally in the 3rd quarter, cutting it down to a point (75-76) with just a little over 1min left in that quarter, Phoenix Suns somehow went on a 10-0 run and finished the quarter 86-75.

Prior to the 4th quarter, Oladipo had a quiet game by his standards making only 8pts as at then, but he came roaring with another 8pts, and eventually finished the game with double digits (16pts, 4reb and 2ast).

Pacers have been on a 3-0 winning run since last weekend, but they will look to bounce back again on Saturday against LA Lakers.

Athletics coverage was a discovery, having to move away from regularly writing about Football. Although it was initially daunting, but now being an authority in it makes the past effort worthwhile. From travelling on the same international flight with Nigerian athletes, to knowing you could easily interview: World Record holder Tobi Amusan, then Ese Brume, I have cut my teeth in this beat earning the trust of Athletics sources.
