2016 World indoor Championships

Trayvon Bromell competing at the Star Athletics Sprint Showdown in Montverde, clocked a brilliant 9.87s (+2.5) to win the men’s 100m ahead of Justin Gatlin who edged Kenny Bednarek for 2nd place, as they were both accorded 10.02s.

Kyree King finished 4th in 10.08s, while Aaron Brown won the 2nd section in 10.15s (+2.0) ahead of veteran, Jeff Demps who ran a Season’s Best (SB) of 10.16s, and Maurice Eaddy in 10.18s.

Bromell had run a wind-legal 9.99s in qualification as both Gatlin and Bednarek clocked 10.09s, a Personal Best (PB) for the latter. Kyree King also won his heat in 10.04s (+1.8), his fastest time since running a PB of 10.00s in 2017.

In the women’s 100m, Sha’Carri Richardson clocked a time of 10.83s for the win, on the back of a 2.1m/s wind, just over the legal limit. Having run an SB of 10.95s in qualification, she finished ahead of Kortnei Johnson who posted 11.15s. Richardson’s time from the heats moves her up to 3rd on the 2020 Global Toplist.
