Nigeria’s Chimezie Metu played his first game for San Antonio Spurs since the NBA restart in Orlando, helping his team win their match against Houston Rockets on Tuesday.

The Power Forward had missed his team’s last six games as a result of a DNP (coach’s decision), but he was called off the bench in the 4th quarter, playing 6mins: 5s for Spurs who won the game 123 -105.

Metu had great awareness, making a steal and treading the ball to Lonnie Walker who returned it to the D’Tigers player to slam it into the rim, making 2pts in the match.

Rockets missed James Harden in the match but they had Russell Westbrook on the court who led his team’s scoring with 20pts, 5reb and 6ast.

Metu will be hoping to get action for Spurs in Game 8 when they face Utah Jazz on Thursday.

Athletics coverage was a discovery, having to move away from regularly writing about Football. Although it was initially daunting, but now being an authority in it makes the past effort worthwhile. From travelling on the same international flight with Nigerian athletes, to knowing you could easily interview: World Record holder Tobi Amusan, then Ese Brume, I have cut my teeth in this beat earning the trust of Athletics sources.
