Semi Ojeleye capitalized on his first start for Boston Celtics since the NBA restarted in Orlando, hitting double figures in his team’s defeat to Washington Wizards on Thursday.

Wizards had a good start, taking the 1st quarter by 5pts (26-21), but Celtics tied the 2nd quarter 30-30. However, it was the former that emerged tops with six points, winning the match 96-90.

In a game which saw Celtics handing their second unit an opportunity, it afforded the likes of Ojeleye the needed chance to flourish, with the forward playing more minutes (31mins: 05) than he has had since last month.

Ojeleye made 13pts for Celtics, his team’s second highest of the match, making 8reb and 2st. He attempted six outside shots, and had a 33.3% conversion rate in the game.

With his good display today, Ojeleye has now given coach Brad Stevens something to worry about as regards selection, knowing he could be counted upon to do a good job for his team.

Athletics coverage was a discovery, having to move away from regularly writing about Football. Although it was initially daunting, but now being an authority in it makes the past effort worthwhile. From travelling on the same international flight with Nigerian athletes, to knowing you could easily interview: World Record holder Tobi Amusan, then Ese Brume, I have cut my teeth in this beat earning the trust of Athletics sources.
