Cameroon’s Joel Embiid believes his team, Philadelphia Sixers have to change their game approach if they are to somehow turnaround their fortunes in the NBA Playoffs.
Sixers went down 2-0 in the series, losing their second consecutive game in the bubble to Boston Celtics who defeated them 128-101 in their match on Wednesday.
Despite making a game-high 34pts and 10reb, Embiid cut a dejected demeanor when he left the court in the last minutes of the defeat to Celtics, with many already predicting that he might have to leave the Sixers if he is to win a Championships.
Celtics had three players scoring 20+ points, with Jayson Tatum leading the way for them with 33pts. No other Sixers player apart from Embiid, made up to 20pts in the game.
“It’s hard when you play defense and they just keep hitting tough shots, but it should never affect us,” Embiid said in his post-match press conference.
“We have got to be aggressive. We have got to be physical. Some things got to change. We have got to fix that.”
In two games against Celtics so far, Embiid has made 60pts and 26reb, fueling the conversation that he might need some help in order to take off some burden from him.
