The journey of Rivers Hoopers at the inaugural edition of the Basketball Africa League has officially come to an end.
After securing a win in its group game against GNBC, Rivers Hoopers hopes rested on other teams contending for the second best loser’s slot, but after Sunday’s games, FAP of Cameroon and Douanes of Senegal had superior points difference.
This meant the Nigerian side sat third on the best loser’s standings, falling short of the two spots allocated to the best losers. It was obviously not a result the KingsMen hoped for, but they will return as history makers, having set some impressive records in the tournament.
One of the notable records set by the KingsMen was Ben Uzoh’s first points in BAL, ensuring they became the first club to score a point in the history of the competition, a record that cannot be erased.
