With less than two days to go before MTN CHAMPS Calabar – the Grand Finale of Season 2 – gets underway, a total of 2291 Athletes across four age categories registered for the four-day competition, which runs from 30th April to 3rd May, at the U.J. Esuene Stadium in Calabar, Cross River State.

Calabar’s registrants almost triples the number of entries for the Season 1 Grand Finale in Abuja, and is the second best location of MTN CHAMPS in its second season, only behind Ibadan in terms of registered athletes.

5506 event entries across 105 Secondary Schools and 122 Junior/Senior Teams were received by the registration deadline (Friday, 26th April), raising the stakes for MTN CHAMPS for a befitting final.

It will be the fourth leg for Season 2, following the first, second and third legs held in Asaba (17th to 21st February), Ibadan (5th to 8th April) and Jos (23rd to 26th April) respectively.

All registered Schools/Athletes must pick up their competition bibs to confirm their participation no later than Monday, 29th April, at the competition venue to remain on their event startlists.

It is compulsory for at least one parent or legal guardian of each participating athlete in the Cadet, Youth & Junior categories to sign the Parental Consent Form which can be downloaded at http://mtnchamps.com/registration and brought along for bib collection.
