Favour Ashe, Kayinsola Ajayi and Godson Brume nearly achieved a historic sweep at the NCAA Championships in the men’s 100m final after placing 2nd, 3rd and 4th respectively.

The Auburn duo, Ashe and Ajayi, posted times of 9.99s and 10.01s respectively. Ashe matched his best performance from 2022 by placing 2nd, which makes it the second time the Auburn junior has made the NCAA 100m podium in three seasons.

It was a huge breakthrough for Ajayi, being the only freshman to make the final and also walk away with a Personal Best (PB) and podium finish.

Godson Brume who was the 2nd place finisher last year in the event, settled for 4th in a photo-finish of 10.02s over Saminu Abdul Rasheed who also recorded the same time.

Louie Hinchliffe won the event with a PB of 9.95s
