Two-time African Games Champion, Chukwuebuka Enekwechi emerged victorious to claim his fourth consecutive National Shot Put Title with a massive throw of 21.37m at the Nigerian Olympic Trials in Benin.

The current African Leader who threw a Personal Best (PB) and National Record (NR) of 21.91m four weeks ago at the Prefontaine Classic in Oregon, obliterated the entire field to win his fifth National title in total, having claimed his first GOLD in 2016.

Emeka Ugwu was 2nd with 16.51m while Emmanuel Audu settled for 3rd with 14.57m.

The National Record holder is poised to represent Nigeria at the forthcoming African Championships and Olympics in Paris, which will be his second consecutive appearance at the Games.

Enekwechi will also be making his 3rd appearance at the African Athletics Championships next week where he will be gunning for a hat trick of victories in the event.
