Reigning Commonwealth Games women’s Discus Champion Chioma Onyekwere won her 2nd National title in the women’s Discus throw, having last won it at the 2021 National Championships held in Yabatech, Lagos.
The African Record holder threw 59.43m to claim the victory, defeating African Games champion and national leader Obiageri Amaechi who was 18cm within range with her mark of 59.25m for 2nd place. Defending Champion Ashley Anumba placed 3rd in the event with a throw of 57.00m.
