The quartet of Kayinsola Ajayi, Usheoritse Itsekiri, Alaba Akintola, and Godson Brume claimed a Silver medal for Team Nigeria in the men’s 4×100m on Day 4 of the African Athletics Championships in Douala, Cameroon.

Ajayi proceeded amazingly well in the first leg to give Nigeria the lead as Itsekiri’s steady rhythm maintained it further, with Akintola and Brume completing the job and settling for Silver in 38.84s as Ghana ran a time of 38.63s to take GOLD. Ivory Coast claimed Bronze in 39.77s.

The quest for Team Nigeria to win GOLD in the men’s 4x100m continues as the last time they won this event was at the 2006 edition, which is nearly two decades ago.
