Team Nigeria had an outstanding performance on Day 4 of the 2024 African Championships in Douala, Cameroon, securing two additional medals to their total count.

In the women’s 4x100m relay, the team consisting of Justina Eyakpobeyan, Tima Godbless, Olayinka Olajide, and Tobi Amusan raced to victory, winning the GOLD medal with a time of 42.76s to finish ahead of Ghana and Liberia.

The quartet of Kanyinsola Ajayi, Usheoritse Itsekiri, Alaba Akintola and Godson Brume crossed the line in 2nd place in the men’s event, finishing with a time of 38.84s, just behind Ghana, earning them the Silver medal.

Alex Chukwukelu made his 110m Debut for Nigeria, finishing 3rd in his heat with a time of 13.80s and progressing to Tuesday’s final as one of the non-automatic qualifiers.
