A provisional list announcing MTN CHAMPS’ Team MVP Top 40 athletes has been released ahead of the MTN CHAMPS Season 3 Grand Final, which will be held at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State, from 6 to 9 May 2025.

Here is the initial list of confirmed athletes for Team MVP at MTN CHAMPS Uyo Grand Final.

The list of Most Valuable Performers (MVPs) was drawn from the first two locations where MTN CHAMPS Season 3 was staged (Benin and Lagos), with 20 athletes selected from each city. The list comprises 9 Cadet (U-14) athletes, 24 Youth (U-17), and 7 Junior (U-20) athletes, with 24 girls and 16 boys in total.

All invited Athletes and/or their Parent/Guardian (with the Athlete’s Coach also cc’d) should email [email protected] no later than Sunday, 27th April, including their name in the email, to confirm:

(1) if they will be accepting the Team MVP invitation to Uyo,

(2) which city and state they will be travelling from AND

(3) which events they will compete in at Grand Final (no more than 3 of which only 2 can be track events)

The information above will enable us coordinate your travel to Uyo no later than Sun 4th May!

10 different states of abode are represented on Team MVP for the MTN CHAMPS Grand Final in Uyo (in terms of where the MVPs school and live), with 12 of the 40 MVPs based in Ogun State, 8 each in Delta & Lagos, 2 each in Edo & Oyo, 1 each in Bayelsa, Kaduna, Ondo & Rivers States.

7 of the 30 Secondary Schools represented in Team MVP for the MTN CHAMPS Grand Final in Uyo have more than 1 Athlete invited for Team MVP, with Anglican Comprehensive in Ogun State leading the way with 3 Athletes. 6 schools each have 2 Athletes – Delta Secondary & Government Model (Delta), Greensprings & ISL (Lagos), Makun High (Ogun) & Vision High (Anambra) – while a further 23 Schools nationwide have 1 Athlete each represented on Team MVP for the Grand Final.

Ogun State leads the way with 8 Secondary Schools represented on Team MVP for the MTN CHAMPS Grand Final, with Lagos & Delta following with 6 and 5 Schools respectively represented. Anambra has 3 schools while Edo and Oyo have 2 each, with Bayelsa, Kaduna, Ondo and Rivers all represented by 1 School of the Team MVP Athletes.

All roads and flights will lead to Uyo for the MTN CHAMPS Grand Final on 6-9 May, with the 40 Athletes invited set to compete on 7 MVP Teams across Cadet, Youth & Junior categories, to test their mettle against the best Athletes the nation has to offer at the Grand Final, with the Team MVP Athletes set to be unveiled with their new kit at the Press Conference in Uyo on Monday 5th May!
