Monaco proved to be a clash of newly crowned European Champions against African Champions. But it was African 800m Champion, Caster Semenya that had the most astonishing performance, setting not just a Meet Record (MR) but a Diamond League Record (DLR) as well.

So for our players that chose Semenya as their Team Captain, I’m sure you’ll be smiling up the ladder on our league table. And for those who didn’t, stop biting your fingers, there are still five cities to go, which means there’s still time to catch up.

On that note, here are the Day 8 Results for our #DiamondRaceContest in the MoC league.

Our league leader R Sigma (Sigma Team) continues to stay on top, especially after picking Semenya as his choice captain, to amass a total of 1557 points. Deji Aliu (champ995 Team) climbed one step higher from 3rd last week, to finish runner-up with 1490 points while Yemi Olus (Pacesetters) moved one step lower to take the 3rd position with 1481 points.

League after Day 9 Monaco

R Sigma had six winners including Semenya who set an MR. He then had one second place finisher in Christina Schwanitz, one fourth place finisher and one player who finished sixth.

Deji Aliu had a better outing as seven of his players were winners including Semenya as choice captain, he also had one sixth and eighth place finishers respectively.

Yemi Olus didn’t toe in this line in her choice of team captain, picking Wayde Van Niekerk who had a win but not an MR. She then had one second, third, sixth and eighth place finishers respectively.

On the World League tables, Hosl’s blog climbed back to the top racking a total of 1567 points, while our league leader R Sigma, took giant steps from 9th in Stockholm to finish 4th. Stockholm’s leader Nick Yearsley was knocked down to 3rd position with 1558 points.
