Eroton Exploration and Production Company Limited is a leading Nigerian indigenous energy company, incorporated in August of 2013 and began full operations on the 15th of May 2015. Eroton aims to be the indigenous industry leader in the production of hydrocarbons in Nigeria.
In line with our Mission to “sustainably own and optimally produce hydrocarbon assets”, Eroton has sourced a highly skilled and motivated team with in-depth knowledge in Upstream Oil and Gas operations combined with a young and dynamic workforce that is proudly Nigerian.
Eroton’s commitment to positively improve lives in the local communities of its operations is the primary focus of our CSR programme. The company has therefore developed strong relationships within the communities through providing essential long-term programmes, while ensuring that all initiatives promote health and wellbeing and are environmentally conscious.
It is with this in mind that we decided to sponsor Making of Champions’ Athletics Track Club in Port-Harcourt this year. For the last 3 years, Making of Champions (MoC) has been a beacon of hope in Nigerian Athletics. Their mission of marrying education with sporting success is one that resonates deeply with our core values – care for people and our environment, accountability, delivering what we promised, excellence and integrity.
MoC has taken ownership of the lofty task of reviving Nigerian Athletics, and this is why, in January of this year, Eroton agreed to sponsor the opening of their new Track Club in Port-Harcourt, after initially having centres in just Lagos and Enugu. Since then, we have provided the support that has enabled MoC to relocate Olympic Medallist Uchenna Emedolu to Port-Harcourt, as the Head Coach for MoC Track Club in PH, and we have also supported MoC Track Club in Lagos, which has Olympic Medallist Deji Aliu as its Head Coach.
MoC currently has 14 Athletes enrolled at Secondary Schools and Universities across Nigeria, such as the University of Port-Harcourt, the University of Lagos and the University of Ibadan. As the 2017 Athletics Season gets underway, Eroton’s sponsorship will assist these Athletes in travelling to competitions across the nation, in their quest to qualify to represent and do Nigeria proud internationally, at the African Junior Championships in Algeria, and 2017 World Student Games in Taipei.
We believe strongly in ensuring that the talented youth of Nigeria equip themselves with a solid educational foundation for life, and that is why Eroton has also assisted MoC by sponsoring various items such as the tuition, living costs & exam fees for several Athletes currently applying to study at University in Nigeria next year.
Eroton will also be the 2017 MoC Media Sponsor. Over 3 million viewers around the world have watched and read MoC’s Athletics videos and stories to date. Indeed, thanks to the photos, videos & stories published by MoC Media since 2013, Nigerians all over the world have been able to follow all the news from our National Teams at the Olympics, World Championships, Commonwealth Games & many other international competitions.
Without MoC’s tireless efforts in promoting Nigerian Athletics, most of us would not even know that the sport was still alive and kicking in our nation. With the help of our 2017 Sponsorship, MoC Media will continue the important work of highlighting & promoting Nigeria’s successes in Athletics anywhere in the world.
Eroton’s hope is that the success of Athletes all over the nation benefitting from our Sponsorship of MoC’s Track Clubs and MoC Media, will inspire a generation of youth across Nigeria, to pursue and complete their University education while also chasing their sporting dreams to do Nigeria proud on a global stage.
As the year progresses, on behalf of our Chairman Onajite Okoloko and the Management and staff of Eroton E&P, we would like to wish all Nigerian Student-Athletes and MoC Track Club Athletes in Port-Harcourt and Lagos in particular, the best of luck as they go for Gold in their academics and their athletics pursuits.
