Cameroon coach Hugo Broos has admitted that his Indomitable Lions team is under pressure to beat the Super Eagles of Nigeria in their 2018 World Cup qualifying game on Friday.
Speaking in a press conference on Thursday, Broos said that if they lose the game, they will be far behind the Super Eagles in the group as the Nigerians will move seven points ahead of them with three more games to play.
“First of all it is a very difficult game because we are playing against a very good opponent. They started very well in the elimination games of the World Cup with two victories, we didn’t do it,” Broos said on the task ahead of them.
“So first we have the opponent, then secondly the situation,” he added.
“We know before this game that losing points to Nigeria is elimination from the World Cup. So in the two games on Friday and Monday, we need four points from six…with less it is finished.”
“For now the pressure is ours, we have to, we have to win, and it’s not so easy but we have the confidence because my team is ready to play those two games, beginning tomorrow, so we will try to win it.”
Nigeria will be hoping they can get maximum points to consolidate their lead on the group with nine points.
