Nigeria’s Blessing Okagbare-Ighoteguonor will be in action at the Jamaica International Invitational taking place this weekend at the National Stadium in Kingston.
It’s the first leg of the nine IAAF World Challenge series in 2018, and Okagbare-Ighotegunor will line up alongside other elite athletes from all over the world in Kingston.

The Nigerian sprinter will be competing in the 200m, and will be hoping she can better or match the African Record of 22.04s which she set in March.
Already, many spectators are anticipating a showdown with Bahamian athlete Shaunae Miller-Uibo who last week in Shanghai, posted a Season’s Best (SB) of 22.06s. However, that race will have to wait as Miller-Uibo will be competing at the Adidas Boost Boston Games that same day.
It will be some race between Okagbare-Ighoteguonor and Miller-Uibo, with both athletes possessing good speed down the home straight, and are now the fastest in the world over that distance this year.
For Okagbare-Ighoteguonor, the Jamaican Invitational will also afford her the opportunity to build on her good form this season, having finished 2nd in the 100m at the Doha Diamond League with an SB of 10.90s.
