After failing to get into our Top 3 in the last four Diamond Race Contest, Team Growing Up which is owned by Abdulrahman Afeez got back to reckoning as he accumulated a total of 217 points to win the Rabat leg of the contest in the “MoC League”

The player who last placed 2nd at the Rome Diamond Race Contest was very cerebral with his selections in Rabat, as his picking of Jamaica’s Akeem Bloomfield-a minnow in the Diamond League circuit, was very crucial to helping him clinch victory.

Akeem Bloomfield set a Meeting Record (MR) of 44.33s on his way to winning the men’s 400m, beating favorite Abdellah Haroun in the process. Also, the player chose four athletes (Caterine Ibargüen, Brianna McNeal, Sam Kendricks and Shaunae Miller-Uibo) who set MRs in their respective discipline.

How the teams fared after the Rabat Diamond Race Contest.

Divine Oduduru’s Team just narrowly missed the 200 points mark, finishing with a point less in Rabat, but he sure would still take consolation in placing 2nd.

Similar to Team Growing Up, the player also opted to go with Bloomfield, but he lost a lot of ground by selecting the duo of Thomas Röhler and Mariya Lasitskene who both had a bad outing in Rabat. Team Top Sprinters which is owned by MoC CEO, Bambo Akani was 3rd with 194 points.
