Born on 9th May 2000, Eze Owoh made the huge leap of moving to Lagos from Akwa Ibom State where he was living with his uncle, in pursuance of his Athletics dream.
While still in Uyo, Moses Owoh shuttled between helping out his uncle and his education, going straight to their shop at the market after each school day to relieve his uncle, who then proceeded to one of their other shops to continue the family business. However, he has given up all of that to navigate through his academics and a career in Athletics.
Scouted by MoC at the Akwa Ibom Youth Sports Festival in 2018, Moses Owoh was the standout quarter-miler at that competition, winning the 400m GOLD medal running from Lane 8.
Having kept tabs on him, MoC invited Eze for the Enugu Finals of the MoC Athletics Trials to showcase his ability against athletes from other regions.
Running in Lane 7 in Enugu, Owoh ran a good race although he was under immense pressure. However, he still held on tightly to secure victory in his heat. His time was the 5th fastest overall from the Enugu Trials.
Eze’s first outing as an MoC athlete was at the 2019 National U20 Championships in Ilaro where he competed in the 200m and 400m.
In 2020, he clocked a Personal Best (PB) of 49.05s while competing at the Athletics Federation of Nigeria (AFN) All-Comers in Akure and has targeted running faster times in the near future.
