Yohan Blake and Bambo Akani at CHAMPS

One of the highlights of our trip to Jamaica was getting to meet many of the stars of Jamaican Track & Field, that have helped catapult them to global domination in the sport in the last 10 years. We chose to go to Jamaica during their High School Championships, CHAMPS, for the very purpose of meeting these big stars – we’d heard that they often attend the Championship to cheer on their old high schools…and that proved to be exactly true…

Bambo and Yohan at Champs

The championship itself was like something any of us had ever experienced before – on the last day of the 5-day annual meet, Jamaica’s national stadium of capacity 25,000 is completely sold out – to watch school kids run!

We caught up with Yohan Blake, Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce and Asafa Powell in the final days of CHAMPS! To find out what we asked them and what they said, see our very first documentary trailer here – Enjoy!
