Toronto Raptors are the Defending Champions for a reason, and they showed why they have the NBA crown, putting up a good fight against Boston Celtics to win Game 6 of their semifinal series, needing two Overtimes and thereby forcing a game 7 in the Eastern Conference Playoffs.
It was a very tense game, and both teams brought their A-game to the court, contesting for every shot, every rebound with so much hanging on the final outcome of the match which Raptors ended up winning 125-122.
With the way they started the game going 12pts up in the 2nd quarter, it looked as though Celtics would wrap up the series at 4-2 and progress to the final. However, Raptors avoided that, playing a very good 3rd quarter which brought them back into the game and in contention.

Raptors went on a 9-0 run in the 3rd quarter to close the gap on Celtics and then lead for the first time in the game. It boosted the confidence of the Canadian franchise, and although Celtics fought back, Raptors found the belief they initially lacked when the game started.
OG Anunoby clocked in a double-double for Raptors, hitting in 13pts and a team-high 13rebs. He did put in a good defensive shift on Jaylen Brown, although the Celtics’ Power Forward was at the doubles as well, making 31pts and 16rebs.
Trailing 2pts with 57s left in 2nd OT, Anunoby yet again came clutch with a very vital 3pt shot that tilted the dynamics of the game back to the Raptors, as they went 118-117 up on Celtics.

Although he had a quieter game, Cameroon’s Pascal Siakam equally made double digits for Raptors, hitting 13pts and 8rebs. Siakam did not find the bucket in all five 3pt attempts he had, but he was his team’s 2nd highest assist (6) contributor in the game.
With the series now at 3-3, expect more fireworks in the deciding Game 7 on Friday. One thing is sure: neither Celtics nor Raptors will have an easy ride to the Eastern Conference Finals.
