Mohamed Salah scored a hat-trick on the opening day of the English Premier League season as it steered defending champions Liverpool to a 4-3 victory over new-comers Leeds United.
With Leeds playing their first Premier League game in 16 years as Championship winners and guided by the iconic Marcelo Bielsa, the newly-promoted upstarts may have been forgiven for a bullish mood on the eve of the new season after Salah poked home from the penalty spot from close range.
