President of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), Amaju Pinnick has confirmed that the Federation has received $1.6 million (one million and six hundred thousand dollars) from the Federation Internationale de Football Association (FIFA) in the frame of COVID-19 palliatives.
With the Pandemic hitting most footballing federation in the World hard financially, FIFA deemed it fit to provide succor to its member associations. Pinnick confirmed the payment on Wednesday via his verified Twitter handle.

The $1 million for palliatives is composed of $500,000 for men’s football and $500,000 for the women’s game. FIFA also promised to send the Federation an additional $500,000 sometime in January 2021, also as part of COVID-19 palliative efforts.
$600,000 of the total sum sent to the Federation will go towards the FIFA Forward 2.0 projects in Birnin-Kebbi and Ugborodo. At $300,000 each, it will enable the mini-stadia in both centers to start at a very good pace, as we earmark completion by the end of March 2021.
