Halimat Ayinde’s second-half strike was enough for the Super Falcons of Nigeria to defeat Uzbekistan 1-0 in their second group match of the ongoing 2021 Turkish Women’s Cup.

Ayinde, the Eskilstuna United midfielder, latched on to a fine cross by Francesca Ordega in the 47th minute to put the nine-time African Champions in front.

FC Sand’s Patricia George replaced Madrid CFF’s Chidinma Okeke in the 64th minute for her second game in the colours of the Super Falcons. Also, Linkopings FC’s Uchenna Kanu replaced Chiwendu Ihezuo.

Equatorial Guinea, Nigeria’s next opponent, suffered their second defeat of the tourney as they were beaten 2-0 by CSKA Moscow.
