Reigning World Champion in the 110m Hurdles, USA’s Grant Holloway on Wednesday (February 24th), broke the Indoor World Record (WR) in the men’s 60m Hurdles while competing at the World Indoor Tour meeting in Madrid, Spain, storming to an incredible time of 7.29s!
The 23-year-old had earlier in the month raced to a Personal Best (PB) of 7.32s in Liévin, France, indicating that he was targeting Colin Jackson’s 27-year-old WR of 7.30s set in Sindelfingen, Germany.
At the meeting in Madrid, he first equalled his PB of 7.32s in the heats and was initially awarded the same time in the final, before the result was subsequently corrected to 7.29s.
Britain’s Andrew Pozzi finished 2nd in 7.51s.
