Team Nigeria’s Ezekiel Nathaniel’s sojourn at the ongoing World Athletics Championships in Budapest has come to an end after finishing 6th in Heat 1 of the semis of the men’s 400m Hurdles on Day 3 of the competition.

The Nigerian record holder was pitted against the likes of two-time Commonwealth Games GOLD medallist Kyron McMaster, USA’s CJ Allen, and two-time World U-20 Champion Jaheel Hyde.

Nathaniel clocked a time of 49.22s as McMaster took the win in 47.72s, with Rasmus Magi coming through for 2nd in 48.30s. The Nigerian had run a very quick 48.47s in the heats yesterday to qualify for the semis – a Season’s Best(SB) just 0.05s off his National Record set in 2021.

This is the hurdler’s second outing at the World Championships, having made his debut in Oregon last year where he also made the semis.
