Nigerian hurdler Ezekiel Nathaniel has continued to showcase his impressive form and extended his dominance to the Big-12 Championships where he shattered his own National Record (NR) to win the men’s 400m hurdles on Saturday, 11th May.
Nathaniel, who previously lowered his PB earlier in April to hit the qualifying standard for the Paris Olympics, almost broke 48 seconds this time around.
He clocked a remarkable 48:00s to upset defending champion Caleb Dean (48.43s) who had to settle for 2nd place, setting a Meeting Record and Facility Record in the process.
The Baylor University athlete moves up the ladder once more and now sits 8th on the all-time African list, just as the time currently places him as the 3rd fastest in the world this year.
