The Nigerian duo of Rosemary Chukwuma and Tima Godbless lined up at the Stade de France arena in the women’s 100m with the hopes of making the semi-finals after a terrific NCAA season.
Chukuma was seeded in Heat 5 while Godbless was in Heat 7. The former did just enough to make the semis after placing 3rd with a time of 11.01s to finish behind Ewa Swoboda (10.99s) and Dina Asher-Smith (11.01s).
Unfortunately for the latter, she placed 6th in 11.33s despite an impressive start as the reigning African Champion, Gina Bass won the heat in 11.01s ahead of Mujinga Kambundji (11.05s) and Delphine Nkansa (11.20s)
Chukuma will return to the track tomorrow for the semifinals.
