Nigeria’s Blessing Oborodudu has secured her place in the semifinals of the women’s 68kg wrestling event at the ongoing Paris 2024 Olympics!

The Olympic Silver medallist defeated Canada’s Linda Morais 8-2 in their match at the Champ-de-Mars Arena to advance.

Oborodudu did not start well, conceding 2 points in the first 3 minutes of the bout, but she stormed back in the second half to score six consecutive points, winning the match 8-2 on points.

She then returned back to the arena, defeating her French opponent, Koumba Larroque 6-2 in a victory by points in their quarterfinal match, silencing the home crowd.

Oborududu was the first Nigerian to ever win an Olympic medal in wrestling with her Silver at the delayed Tokyo 2020 Games three years ago.
