After finishing 8th in the men’s triple jump final at the World Championships in Beijing with a jump of 16.81 metres on Thursday night (Aug 27th), Nigeria’s Tosin Oke did not mince words on his feelings about the current state of affairs within Nigerian Athletics.

From decrying the decision to take the National Championships to the poor track in Warri, to demanding the Athletics Federation of Nigeria (AFN) reimburse the thousands of dollars owed to him, it seems that a storm may be brewing in Nigerian Track & Field that needs to be addressed quickly if Nigeria is ever going to take it’s proper place at the feast of World Athletics!
