The Making of Champions team spent the most amazing week in Jamaica, during CHAMPS, their high school athletics championships. Enefiok Udo-Obong, Nigeria’s only male double Olympic Medalist (GOLD & Bronze in the 4×400 relay at Sydney 2000 and Athens 2004 respectively) graced us with his presence on this trip and it worked wonders – within 2 days we were on the Smile Jamaica morning show on National Television talking about the documentary, and this was followed by several radio interviews, and lots of interest in our project everywhere we went that week!
We were also privileged to meet many of Jamaica’s stars such as Yohan Blake and Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce and even managed exclusive interviews with them, as we discussed both Nigerian and Jamaican Athletics! This Gallery begins to give a taste of why and how exactly Jamaica got their breakthrough to become the top Athletics (Sprint) nation in the world!
